Finding a personal poker sponsor can be challenging, but there are several steps you can take to increase your chances of securing sponsorship:

Build your poker reputation: Establish a solid track record of consistently winning in online and live tournaments. Post your results on poker forums and social media platforms, and maintain a public profile on sites like PocketFives and Hendon Mob that track poker results. This will make you more attractive to potential sponsors.

Network with other poker players: Engage with the poker community, both online and in person. Join poker forums, attend live poker events, and connect with other players on social media. Building relationships with fellow players can lead to referrals and sponsorship opportunities.

Participate in staking agreements: Staking is a common practice in poker where an investor (the backer) provides the entry fee for a player (the horse) in exchange for a percentage of the winnings. This can be a good way to demonstrate your skills and gain exposure to potential sponsors. Websites like ChipMeUp and YouStake facilitate staking agreements between players and backers.

Create content: Share your poker knowledge and experiences by creating content like blog posts, articles, videos, or podcasts. This can help you establish yourself as an authority in the poker community and attract the attention of potential sponsors.

Approach potential sponsors directly: Research poker-related companies or individual investors who might be interested in sponsoring you. Prepare a professional proposal outlining your accomplishments, goals, and how their support will benefit both parties. Be prepared to discuss the terms of the sponsorship, such as the percentage of winnings you’ll share and any other expectations they might have.

Leverage social media: Cultivate a strong social media presence by sharing your poker achievements, engaging with your audience, and promoting your sponsors’ products or services. This will make you more appealing to potential sponsors, as they’ll be able to see the value you can bring to their brand.

Be persistent: Finding a sponsor can take time, so be prepared to invest time and effort into the process. Keep refining your skills, networking, and promoting yourself, and be patient. The right opportunity may come along as you continue to improve and gain recognition in the poker community.

  1. You will probably have to do it like I done it. Just keep a job and build your bankroll a little at a time until you make it. That’s probably the best way anyway. You don’t wanna have to worry about giving your sponsor a cut or losing his money. You wanna play poker as stress free as possible. You can also play games that don’t require much of a bankroll. Heads up tournaments online for example. Sit and Go tournaments don’t require much of a bankroll either.

    Conact me, we’ll talk.
